Our Story
Kauffman’s Bar-B-Que began in 1953 when Marvin and Pearl Kauffman started dressing poultry behind their home in Rehrersburg, PA. By 1956, they launched Kauffman’s BBQ Chicken after buying a rotisserie and secret sauce recipe from two New Yorkers at Renninger’s Market. They sold their chicken at local fairs and fundraisers while also farming poultry on land they purchased in 1955.
In 1979, Marvin and Pearl opened Kauffman’s Bar-B-Que Ranch, a family restaurant that has thrived for 45 years. Now run by their son Chris and his children, the restaurant still serves the same beloved rotisserie chicken and hearty Pennsylvania Dutch meals.
Located off Route 22, the ranch features indoor seating for over 250 guests, views of the original farm, a duck pond, miniature golf course, ice cream parlor, and rentable outdoor pavilion space. We welcome you to enjoy great food, a friendly atmosphere, and a taste of tradition.
